The club aimed to grow its membership, improve the quality of its public speaking programs, and maintain financial sustainability while adapting to a hybrid (online/in-person) meeting model post-pandemic.

As Club President and Assistant Treasurer, I was responsible for leading strategic initiatives to enhance member engagement and development, managing club finances, ensuring compliance with Toastmasters International guidelines, and increasing overall club visibility and effectiveness.

Action

• As President, set the club’s annual goals and chaired executive committee meetings, aligning members and officers around education, recruitment, and engagement strategies.

• Organized and hosted regular meetings, contests, and open house events to promote public speaking and leadership development.

• Led a hybrid transition by implementing tools and processes to run effective online and in-person meetings.

• Mentored new members and supported officers in their roles, helping maintain a collaborative and supportive culture.

• As Assistant Treasurer, managed dues collection, budgeting, and financial reporting in line with club and Toastmasters International requirements.

• Introduced a digital record-keeping system to improve financial tracking and transparency.

Result

• Increased member retention and engagement, leading to a 15% growth in active membership.
