Timeframe: 2018 – 2019
Situation
Many young aspiring entrepreneurs in Kuala Lumpur lacked access to practical, hands-on training in e-commerce — a critical skill set for success in today’s digital economy. This skills gap limited their ability to launch and grow sustainable online businesses.
Task
I was tasked with developing and leading two comprehensive training workshops to empower youth with actionable knowledge in e-commerce, online business models, and digital marketing — with a strong focus on real-world application and entrepreneurship.
Action
Designed and facilitated two intensive e-commerce training workshops tailored to young entrepreneurs, focusing on business model creation, digital tools, and marketing strategies.
Developed a practical, action-oriented curriculum covering online store setup, product positioning, social media engagement, and platform utilization (e.g., Shopee, Shopify, Instagram).
Led interactive sessions, live demos, and group activities to ensure participants gained both theoretical and hands-on experience.
Provided one-on-one mentorship to help participants refine their ideas and develop viable online business plans.
Organized collaborative breakout sessions and follow-up support to maintain engagement and encourage business launches post-training.
Result
Successfully trained over 50 young entrepreneurs, many of whom launched their own e-commerce ventures following the workshops.
Boosted participant confidence and digital fluency, contributing to a more digitally capable and entrepreneurial youth community.
Strengthened awareness of digital opportunities among underserved groups, reinforcing the value of practical education in shaping future business leaders.
